RapidMask® - Snap It. Scratch it. Stick it.

October 31, 2014
Here are a few quick tips on utilizing RapidMask photoresist film by IKONICS Imaging. Q1: How do you determine if RapidMask is exposed correctly? A: Do the snap test. Once RapidMask is done exposing, you should be able to bend the corner of the exposed film and hear it snap! Q2: How do you determine which side of RapidMask contains the slip sheet (adheres or sticks directly to the substrate)? Do the scratch test. The slip sheet on the RapidMask film will leave an indent or a scratch mark that is visible after scratching. Pull the slip sheet off first, then adhere that sticky side of the film to the substrate. Q3: How do you determine the carrier sheet on RapidMask film? The carrier sheet is more durable and will not scratch! Leave the carrier on and use a squeegee to eliminate all the air bubbles. Remove the carrier, wire wheel any remaining air bubbles, then go sandblast!
